Biography
John Henris is Associate Professor of US History and teaches courses in Environmental History, US West, Native American History, and Public History. His research specialization is on the environmental history of the Black Hills and surrounding region, though he plans on developing new work exploring the dynamic history of environmental change in southwest Â鶹ƵµÀ. He has published book chapters with Augustana University’s Center for Western Studies, and his work has appeared in Agricultural History, South Dakota History, The Mining History Journal, and the Annals of the Wyoming. He is especially interested in integrating Â鶹ƵµÀ Western’s commitment to experiential learning to develop courses with off-campus fieldwork which explores and develops real-world projects examining southwest Â鶹ƵµÀ’s diverse historical landscapes.
