Biography
Education and Public Service are passions in Val’s life. Being a part of the Â鶹ƵµÀ Teacher Residency Program just fills her bucket. She was a public school educator and language program coordinator for 33 years in Oregon and Colorado, then moved into leading adult training departments and curriculum development for a large non-profit in Colorado and even the Â鶹ƵµÀ State Department of Corrections! She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Oregon State University and then focused on English Language Development for English language learners from all over the planet, earning certifications from California State University, Long Beach and Willamette University. She and her husband are dedicated motorcyclists, with 6 bikes and a passion for adventure riding on their KTMs on backroads and trails and on their BMWs on pavement throughout the West. She is an organic gardener, has an art studio, and loves spending time with her adult children and new granddaughter here in Â鶹ƵµÀ. Her home is currently managed by 2 energetic dogs, Riley the Border Collie and Ricky the Cowboy Corgi.
